For a while now, I’ve been running this blog in a more or less « anonymous » way. However, it is always more pleasant, when reading articles, to know who you’re dealing with, isn’t it ? Writing about yourself is not an easy thing to do. I must admit it had been the most difficult article to write ! In fact, writing a page about yourself is a horrible exercise. You might think that bloggers are people who like to talk about themselves… They don’t. I love sharing stunning photographs of landscapes around the world and captivating travel stories. Today, those two passions encourage me to write few words about C-Ludik and its travel blog ‘Tween here and there…
Who is C-Ludik ?
C-Ludik (from Latin Ludere, to play) is my comic traveler alter-ego and also the URL of the Web site ‘Tween here and there. Behind this nickname is Céline, a French woman who is passionate about travel, photography and writing. As an avid outdoors enthusiast and world traveler I’m determined to discover the remote corner of the planet. I like travelling the world, seeing things with my own eyes, experiences on my own skin. I try to remain supremely ludic and childlike in my travelling approach and open my eyes to things we didn’t think possible. Through my stories, I hope to inspire adults of all ages to be adventurous and to enrich their lives by captivating the power of travel and cultural exploration… I am convinced that we are lifelong learners and we can reach our full potential through continuous exploration the world and its many cultures… and always keep in mind the ludic touch.
« To stay is to exist, to travel is to live ».
(Quote from Gustave Nadaud taken over by Georges Brassens)
I get a feel for the local culture by listening to their music, eating local, reading their history… when feasible I like having a travel local guide, one of those telling real and passionate stories and anecdotes of that place. I have plenty of funny stories to share with other travelers or none travelers… And a good travel story is usually the result of something that went (terribly) wrong. These moments can be quite unpleasant experiences, but you instantly know that they will make an excellent story for years to share !
A reference to Ulysses… “Happy C-Ludik who, like Ulysses, has made a fine voyage and then returns, experienced and knowledgeable”. A BIG thank you to Patrick Chappatte, an editorial cartoonist for the New York Times as well as for Swiss newspapers Le Temps and NZZ am Sonntag and a pioneer of graphic journalism. Meeting you was an amazing experience !
What inspired you to start the travel blog ‘ Tween here and there ?
‘ Tween here and there has been created to share my trip, travels, adventures. I enjoy exploring and discovering other cultures while travelling, listening to music, eating wherever it is, here or on the other side of the world, there. You can jump in a plane to go oversea or simply get away for a weekend in remote rural areas, or to breathe fresh air on top of a mountain. The blog name is also a reference to the song « Other there » from the French singer Jean-Jacques Goldman who has been a real driver …
« Over there, everything is new and wild / Free continent without fences / Beautiful as you would never imagine / Here our dreams are narrow / That’s why I will go over there… »
(Jean-Jacques Goldman – Là-bas)
A BIG thank you to Jean-Jacques Goldman, a popular French singer-songwriter, for his sweet words
When I could do it, I was enthusiastic sharing notes and pictures with relatives and friends. Then, I started the travel blog ‘ Tween here and therebecause I wanted to share my travels and experience with other people with the same passion. I remember very well my first days stroking the keys of my keyboard computer to create the first blog posts… Selfishly, this blog also allows me to keep my writings and photos once the trip is over, to keep a « live » memory. However, I received your incredible and encouraging comments when publishing an article directly on the blog or through Social Medias. The number of visitors has increased on ‘ Tween here and there and the orientation of the site has changed a bit. ‘ Tween here and there was even nominated for the Liebster Award in 2016 when it was launched and for the Sunshine Blogger Award in 2017. « It is a dangerous business, going out of your door ; you step onto the road and if you don’t keep your feet, there is no telling where you might be swept off to ».
(Bilbon – The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring)
I aim to fuel your desire for travel by creating ludic content with striking visuals to spark up your inner wanderlust ! I tell beautiful stories about this wild world of ours and spread the message about the beauty of each destination as we explore each places culture and traditions. The world extraordinary landscapes reveal the splendor of nature in every form. From the Salar de Uyuni where the sky meets the ground, from the dreamy white sands along a Cuba beach to the dazzling northern lights coloring a Lapland night sky, our planet comes vividly to life.

C-Ludik around the world: why traveling here or over there ?
« Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So, throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor. Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover »
What is the favourite travel adventure of C-Ludik ?
« I don’t make a trip; the trip makes you » (David Le breton).
How does C-Ludik select the next trip ?
I am often asked where I’ve been in the world, when my next trip will be and where I plan to go. How do I choose my next travel destination ? What prompt us to leave a comfy home behind and travel, if not the stories or the images that tell the tale of an elsewhere we, too, would like to discover ? Have you noticed how some books, movies or even songs fill you with the urge to pack and join the characters, sceneries and moods they conjure up ? It is more or less conscious, sometimes a guilty pleasure but the choice of a destination is often whispered by a novel’s hero, a movie’s shot or a guitar tune…
A BIG thank you to André Benn and his comic book character Mic Mac Adam
If I put on the soundtrack of “Braveheart“…as background music… as the first notes resonate, I think of Mel Gibson wearing a kilt, of a land of mists and heather-covered moors, of lochs, cliffs, and waterfalls, a land of the sound of bagpipes. If in addition I read Mic Mac Adam’s comic book adventures, then I immediately want to discover the Scottish Highlands…
